It’s Spiritual To Be Adaptable And Open To Change

Hi Friends!

A lot of new things are going to be changing on this site here soon. I wanted to give you a heads up about it to let you know that change happens. And of course, that change and adaptation – that is being adaptable to new and different things – is a very spiritual endeavor indeed. Although it is safe to stay the course, and to keep doing the same things over and over again, it doesn’t necessarily lead to growth. In an effort to continue to grow and change, I have to continue to be open to adaptation and being adaptable to new things.

Adaptability is a necessary component of survival.

In Charles Darwin’s The Origin of Species, he posits that the species that possess the ability to adapt and change within their environment have the best chance of survival. Darwin wrote, “it is not the strongest of the species that survives, not the most intelligent. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”

So…What are these new changes I am hinting at?  Well, to begin with – the website is going to change. I am morphing all of my blogs (this one and my http://rabbicosnowsky.com blog) under one new roof. I am becoming who I’ve always been. That is: http://rabbicosnowsky.com

I’m actually linking to this old site so you can see the before – before it changes to the after. And the after will be a total overhaul of these three websites. This was an effort to house all of my teachings under one roof, and to give it a more modern look. Also, I will also be changing my blog posting schedule and adding a podcast so you can take me with you on the go!

I have been posting to this blog, twice a week now for almost a whole year. I’m truly grateful to all of you who have stayed and grown with me. It is the hope that I have taught you something about the need to stay connected to the source of our being. That that Higher Being wants what is best for us, and nurtures and fosters our spiritual growth.

What Are The Next Steps

If you would like to remain with me on this spiritual journey – you do not have to do a thing. I will naturally migrate you (and your email) over to my new site. It will continue to let you know when I post a blog or podcast about spirituality. If you are not up to the new site – let me know either by sending an email or you can unsubscribe at anytime. However, I hope you’ll remain with me as I grow, change and try new endeavors.

Change is Difficult

One of the major doctrines of the Chinese philosophy Taoism is to go with the flow. Just as rivers follow the path of least resistance, so too can we also accept change by not fighting it. Although it’s hard to adapt and change, adapting to it helps us respond instead of reacting. Change is good – it is even difficult sometimes, but ultimately it takes us onto the next chapter in our lives. My friend remarked that change is only good when I wanted to change. It’s never good when I didn’t want to!

An Epic Marketing Fail of Changing without Adapting

Remember when Coke tried to change its original formula to New Coke? Back in 1985, it was a text-book memorable marketing failure. There was so much pressure to return to the classic Coke taste, that the company had no choice but to do so. And they kept their market share, but had to admit to their adoring coke drinkers that they had not navigated that change correctly. They had misjudged their loyal customers and they came back to what was familiar and safe. The good news is – I am not Coca-cola. I’m not changing my formula – I’ll still be sweet and hopefully still refreshing. The content will still be the same – I’ll just be changing the website name and housing everything under one site.

Thank you for your support, your openness to my adapting to change and for walking with me on this spiritual path. I’ll keep you updated before the change happens, and who knows, I may even be able to give you a behind the scenes, sneak-peek to what it will look like. Until we meet again – may you continue to be blessed along your spiritual journey!
